Feeling overwhelmed can refer to the experience of being unable to keep up with demands on one’s time, energy, or emotions. It makes you feel like you have too much on your plate with too little time to manage. Overwhelmed feelings can also be a stress response, especially when put in such a stressful situation for prolonged periods. 

Recognize the signs of feeling overwhelmed.

However, the most common include agitation, restlessness, irritability, anxiety, panic, feeling helpless, having trouble with sleeping and concentration, headaches, nausea, and muscle pains.

However, maintaining overall health and well-being can help prevent you from being too vulnerable in stressful situations. You can eat nutritious snacks, read new books, exercise, or practice good hygiene during high stress.

Do not rush

When you’re overwhelmed, it’s easy to feel like you must do many things simultaneously, hoping you can manage it all. However, this will only lead to a more stressful situation. It’s better to tackle one thing at a time by breaking the task into more manageable pieces. Once you get the pace, you will automatically know what to do next because you can rebuild your focus, allowing you to get back on track.
